Martin Peck
Well Martin,
Annette & the 2 boys have settled in Palmerston North. The bike is due to arrive
in two weeks time just too late for our competition season but not too late to
test and tune. I met Martin at our Nationals and he was kind enough to give me
some photos of the bike. I have posted them below jut click to enlarge:
Some Notes
on the bike.
The motor in my bike has a Puma bottom end, made
by Pete Davis in England, Puma cases and cranks are used by most of the 4
cylinder top fuel bikes.
The block is from Ron Krol in the USA. I did all
the head work myself, including fitting skulls in the head, and putting in
34mm inlet and 31.5mm ex valves.
Bore is 90mm stroke is 74mm, making it almost
1900cc.
The primary drive and clutch are copied from a top
fuel Harley, most of the parts I made myself.
The gearbox uses parts often used on top fuel
Harleys, from Bentec who are based in Sweden. They make 2 speed gear boxes. I
have put sets of gearbox internals side by side in my own casing ( it the
round cylinder behind the engine ) to make up a 3 speed gearbox.
The engine is dry sumped, using 3 oil pumps and a
oil tank that's under the seat area.
